Why is debit permission required to buy food etc?

This is not only not necessary, it's a security risk to customers.  There's nothing to stop an updated item from being changed so it empties your account of $L.

Please fix this ASAP!

No this is not the same as being able to take all your l's from you it is not a hack in anyway it is within TOS for SL All you are doing is granting it permission to take money from you to pay the food dish. Once you accept this you will be able to pay the dish which in turn will pay us what you pay into it. We Cannot at ANY time take your ls.

Again, you DO NOT NEED DEBIT PERMISSION FOR PAY TO WORK if it is scripted properly.

Does one need to allow debit permission in order to pay tip jars?  No.

Debit permission is needed when you need to take money from a user's account without them doing something.  If they are going to pay the dish, it is not necessary and bad scripting.

Our products are scripted properly when you give permissions you will see when you pay the dish you pay yourself and it then in turn pays our main acct. There is no way anyone in BioBreeds can take all your ls from you.  But you can go to the main and buy prefilled dishes if your uncomfortable. Or you can contact Ozzie Drucker for more information .

ok. let me explain this.

When any kind of script in SL wants to take money from a person to send it to someone else, SL makes sure that it first asks if it is ok by that person.
Hence why you get the pop up message that asks you if you really want to enable pay on it.

WHen you own a tipjar that enables payment to a third party, it will also ask for permission.

the reason for this is rather simple.

When you pay an object that is yours, money always goes to you.
yet, when the money should go to someone else (like a tipjar with the possibility to split profits, or our bowl) you pay the object, it pays you, and the script then takes money from your account to send it to where it should go.

it's always a good thing to do a bit of research on how scripts in SL work.

so again, it is needed to have the debit permission in our items, so that you can pay it, and that money can go to biobreeds.

If you do not wish to do so, it's fine. it's up to you. then you don't pay for food.

have a nice day :D

There is a menu selection which allow disabling pay.

If someone has an issue with the bowl being able to take from their account, the simplest solution would be ti disable it then re-enable each time you need feed.
